At least four Palestinians were wounded Monday in a mysterious explosion in the southern Gaza Strip, security officials and medics said.
The group were in a former Jewish settlement in southern Gaza, apparently scrounging for scrap metal, when an explosion occurred, injuring four people, the security officials said. Medics said five people, aged 3-40, were wounded in the explosion.
Officials said they were investigating whether the blast was caused by unexploded ordnance, possibly an old artillery shell.
