A car bomb and a roadside bomb exploded within minutes of each other in north Baghdad Wednesday, killing at least nine people, including two Iraqi soldiers, and wounding 36, police said.
The bombs, targeting a passing Iraqi army patrol, detonated at a busy intersection in the Qahira neighborhood during the morning rush hour, police Lt. Mohammed Khayun said.
Police said the wounded included at least six Iraqi soldiers.
Hundreds of Iraqis have been killed by suicide bombings, shootings and mortar and rocket attacks over the past two weeks.
