Egypt police: Doctor decapitated by brother-in-law

An Egyptian-Swedish doctor was decapitated by his brother-in-law at his home in southern Egypt, police said Monday.
A police official the brother-in-law confessed to killing the doctor with the help of a friend in a plot to steal $90,000 in cash that he thought the doctor kept at his home. The police official said, however, that the killer found only $90 in the apartment.
Speaking on condition of anonimity as he was not allowed to speak to the press, the official said that the man will stand trial in the March 29 slaying in the town of Naga'a Hammadi, 290 miles (460 kilometers) south of Cairo.
The doctor was born in Egypt and became a Swedish citizen while working there.
