Egyptian sources claim that Shalit is alive

Official sources in Cairo said that Egypt had given Israel concrete evidence Tuesday that kidnapped soldier Cpl. Gilad Shalit was alive. According to the sources, Shalit was being held in a hidden location in the PA. A London-Arab newspaper Ashark-El-Awsa reported that Egypt was making attempts to convince Israeli mediators and Shalit's captives to reach a prisoner exchange agreement. The newspaper claimed that an Israeli official was scheduled to arrive in Cairo to further negotiations in the following days.
