Official sources in Cairo said that Egypt had given Israel concrete evidence Tuesday that kidnapped soldier Cpl. Gilad Shalit was alive.
According to the sources, Shalit was being held in a hidden location in the PA.
A London-Arab newspaper Ashark-El-Awsa reported that Egypt was making attempts to convince Israeli mediators and Shalit's captives to reach a prisoner exchange agreement.
The newspaper claimed that an Israeli official was scheduled to arrive in Cairo to further negotiations in the following days.
