Germany will send $83 million in aid to Lebanon, as well as temporary bridges to replace those destroyed by bombing, the government said Thursday.
Experts will be sent to restore damaged water supplies, and customs and police officers will help reinforce controls at Beirut airport, a government spokesman said.
Berlin is also offering to send warships to patrol Lebanon's coast to block arms shipments to Hizbullah, though the details of that deployment remain unclear.
