A Hamas delegation will visit Egypt Monday to discuss the Israeli ground offensive in Hamas-ruled Gaza, a senior official in the organization says.
The deputy head of Hamas's political bureau in Syria, Moussa Abu Marzouk, told The Associated Press the delegation coming to Egypt is headed by bureau members Imad al-Alami and Mohammad Nasr.
He said the delegation would discuss a halt to the Israeli "aggression," an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, opening the border crossings and lifting the blockade, adding that an Egyptian proposal for a reconciliation with its rival Fatah would also be brought up.
Egypt's official news agency confirmed a Hamas delegation was coming to Cairo but didn't give details.
