By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
Iranian state radio says that a bus has overturned in a traffic accident near Teheran, killing at least 25 people on board.
The report says that 16 other passengers were injured in the Tuesday morning crash, some of them critically.
The accident took place some 35 kilometers south of the Iranian capital. Police are investigating and no more details were immediately available.
Iran has one of the worst road safety records in the world. Statistics say that more than 26,000 people lose their lives in road accidents every year in the Persian country.
The high death toll is blamed on unsafe vehicles, disregard for traffic rules and inadequate emergency services.
