Iraqi troops capture suspected Shi'ite militiamen

A Shi'ite militiaman believed to have recently returned from Iran has been detained with four other suspects south of Baghdad, the US military said Sunday. A statement said one of those captured was believed to have "returned from Iran and is seeking to re-establish his power base" in the southern city of Qurna. It stated he was blamed for planting roadside bombs and other attacks on Iraqi and foreign forces. The military added that he was captured with another terror cell leader in the area, and three other suspects were seized in other operations.
