Palestinians unveiled a stone mausoleum for their late leader Yasser Arafat in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Saturday.
The 11-meter long mausoleum made of off-white stone, called Jerusalem stone, was offset on three sides by water, and a piece of train track was entombed inside the mausoleum. Both are meant to symbolically indicate that the late, charismatic leader Arafat had not reached his final resting place, which Palestinians hope will be east Jerusalem, the hoped-for capital of a future Palestinian state.
