By JPOST.COM STAFFThe Palestinian Authority rejected Israel's request on Monday to provide a live-feed of video footage from cameras monitoring the Rafah crossing between Egypt and Gaza.
A senior Palestinian official told Ramallah daily newspaper al-Ayam that the footage would be transferred once daily, 24 hours after it was recorded.
The installation of the video cameras at the Rafah crossing was completed Sunday, in advance of the planned reopening of the border next week.
A number of details remain to be ironed out in Israeli-Palestinian arrangements for the reopening of the crossing.
On Monday EU foreign ministers are expected to discuss the scope of the role at Rafah that they are willing to take on as third-party supervisors, after meeting with Israeli and Palestinian officials on Sunday.
