Palestinian factions, Egyptian intelligence officials to discuss Schalit

Palestinian factions and Egyptian intelligence officials meeting in Cairo Monday, are expected to discuss captive IDF soldier St.-Sgt. Gilad Schalit, Israel Radio reported Monday morning. At the meeting, efforts will be made to "revive" the contacts for a prisoner exchange deal between Hamas and Israel, the Egyptian Al-Ahram newspaper reported. Islamic Jihad representatives from the Gaza Strip and Syria will be the first Palestinian faction to meet with the Egyptians. Next week, Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFPL) and Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) representatives are expected to arrive in Cairo as well. The focus of the meetings will reportedly be resolving the crisis between the PLO and Hamas and strengthening the "truce" in the Gaza Strip.
