Palestinian population to double by 2029

The Palestinian Authority's Central Bureau of Statistics claimed on Saturday that the estimated number of Palestinians around the world is 10.1 million. The figure includes the 1.1 million Israeli Arabs and the 220,000 Arab residents of Jerusalem. A report issued by the bureau in Ramallah said 3.8 million Palestinians live in the West Bank and Gaza Strip (37.9 percent of the total), 1.1 million (11.2%) in Israel, 3 million (29.4%) in Jordan, 462,000 (4.6%) in Syria.The report predicted that the number of Palestinians would double in 23 years. Of the Palestinian population in PA areas, 2.4 million (63%) live in the West Bank, while 1.4 million (37%) are in the Gaza Strip. The data showed that the percentage of refugees registered by UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) is 42.5% of the population in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, about 87% of Palestinians in Jordan, and some 95% of Palestinians in Syria and Lebanon.
