Plane crashes in Sinai desert; at least 9 killed

Egyptian officials said a French plane belonging to a Sinai multinational peacekeeping force crashed Sunday in the desert, and as many as nine aboard the plane were killed. Capt. Ihab Moheildin, the air control officer at Cairo airport, said the plane was on its way to St. Catherine's airport when it went down. Capt. Mohammed Badr, a police officer in the Sinai, said nine people onboard the plane were killed. The identity of the nine dead was not immediately clear.
