Syrian ambassador to Turkey: Israel must commit to returning Golan

Israel must commit to returning the Golan Heights before Damascus resumes indirect peace negotiations with Jerusalem, Syria's new ambassador to Turkey Nadil Kabala said Thursday.
Kabalan told The Associated Press that recent statements by the Israeli government have not been encouraging.
The Israeli Embassy declined to comment.
