US military: Cargo aircraft crashed in Iraq; casualties not reported

The US military said a civilian cargo aircraft has crashed south of Fallujah, a city in western Iraq. The military said four to six crew members were on the aircraft, and that their status is unknown. The military does not know the nationality of the aircraft, which reported a malfunction Thursday while traveling from al-Asad air base to Baghdad International Airport. Iraqi police in Fallujah said the aircraft crashed in the desert and there were no Iraqi casualties. There were no reports of shooting at the time when the aircraft crashed.
