US soldier killed in Baghdad roadside bomb attack

An American soldier died of wounds sustained in a roadside bombing in eastern Baghdad, the US military reported Saturday. The military said the bomb struck the soldier's vehicle during a combat patrol in eastern Baghdad at approximately 6:15 p.m. Friday. Saturday's announcement raises to two the number of US troops killed in Iraq in May. At least 50 US troops were killed in April - the deadliest month since September when 65 US troops died.
