British journalist John Cantlie reporting for ISIS
A British freelance journalist is seen in the latest video released by Islamic State “reporting” from the Syrian Kurdish town of Kobani.
In the clip, John Cantlie narrates from the Turkish-Syria border town wearing black civilian clothing.
In his previous appearances on ISIS-released footage, Cantlie is seen in the orange suits that the group’s prisoners are forced to wear.
Cantlie describes the scene in Kobani from the point of view of ISIS. In his presentation, he brushes off suggestions that the group is on the retreat.
The British journalist was kidnapped in Syria by ISIS in November 2012. The American photographer, James Foley, was also taken captive at the time. Foley and three others were beheaded by ISIS in videotaped executions.
