Bus carrying kids overturns injuring all 46 passengers

One man in critical condition, 3 treated for serious injuries; driver says he was distracted by passenger car, lost control.

Forty-six passengers were injured on Saturday night when the bus they were traveling in flipped over on Highway 6 near the Eyal junction.
Three people, including one child, remained in serious condition hours after the accident, while another 10 were in moderate condition.
All 46 passengers on the bus were hurt in the accident and rushed to different hospitals for treatment.

There were 17 children on board; all but one were lightly hurt.
Bar Ehanin, head of the Sharon District Traffic Police, said that the bus was traveling from Jerusalem when about a kilometer after the Eyal junction, for unknown reasons, it veered into the right shoulder and then back into the road, before losing control and overturning on its side.
He said the passengers suffered a variety of injuries, both in the fall and by being crushed by other people, and that police did not find anyone who had been thrown from the bus during the crash.
Ehanin added that police took a blood test from the bus driver to check if he was intoxicated, and are still awaiting the results. He added that the driver did not have a high number of traffic citations on his record, and that the circumstances of the crash are still under investigation..
