A hit-and-run accident left three generations of one family injured in Petah Tikva on Saturday.A grandmother, her daughter and two of her grandchildren, aged seven and nine, were all lightly injured when a car smashed into them as they walked across a pedestrian crossing in the afternoon.Police said the driver failed to stop and fled the scene of the accident without checking the pedestrians’ condition or offering them assistance.Magen David Adom paramedics arrived on the scene and evacuated the four to the Beilinson Medical Center in Petah Tikva, Channel 10 reported.Police have launched a search for the driver.Two lethal accidents occurred in Petah Tikva on Thursday night. In the first, a van struck and killed a female pedestrian. Hours later, a male pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed.Police are investigating both accidents. Hit-and-run incidents form a top priority for the Traffic Police. In most cases, drivers turn themselves in within hours of the accident.In a minority of cases, police reach the suspected drivers by following a trail of forensic evidence from the crash scene, and via intelligence.Drivers who fail to turn themselves in were likely driving under the influence of alcohol, or without a license or insurance, according to Traffic Police statistics.
