A group of Palestinians attacked a young Jewish man near the capital’s Damascus Gate Tuesday afternoon, in what police say may have been retribution for a group of Jews wearing right-wing T-shirts nearby.According to police, the attack took place at 12:30 p.m., shortly after several Jews were seen in the area sporting shirts emblazoned with images of slain right wing politician Rabbi Meir Kahane, stating “Kahane was right!” “We’re investigating to see if there is a link between the attack and the possibility that Palestinians in the area were angered by the group for wearing the T-shirts about half an hour earlier,” a police spokesman said.The victim was treated at the scene and did not require hospitalization, the official said. The assailants fled the scene shortly after the attack and police were searching the area to find the suspects, he added.“We have opened an investigation to determine if this was a hate crime stemming from the T-shirts,” the spokesman said.
