The Knesset called for graphic design students to submit proposals for the legislature’s new logo on Sunday.
The winning design is to appear on the Knesset’s stationary, business cards, website, smartphone application and in other places.
Participants have to integrate the state symbol – a Menora and olive branches – in the logo and emphasize that the Knesset is accessible to the public and open to all opinions.
Finalists are to be selected by a public committee consisting of design professionals, MKs and senior Knesset employees, and the public is to be able to vote on the winner. Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein and the public committee would then select one of the three most popular entries.
The Knesset is to accept submissions from the beginning of the academic year next week and continue for four months. It is to hold open days for graphic design students to take part in tours and workshops.
As of Monday, according to the Knesset, the rules in full will be available on its website.
“The time has come for the Knesset to find a way to express its uniqueness and relevance to every citizen in the country.
This contest has great educational value, and I plan to personally take part in meetings with hundreds of students who will visit the Knesset,” Edelstein stated.
