Military affairs reporter Yoav Limor leaving IBA

Limor said that after nine years with the IBA, it was time for him to move on to greener pastures.

Yoav Limor, Channel 1’s charismatic, fast-talking, highly informed and well-connected military affairs reporter Yoav Limor is parting company with the Israel Broadcasting Authority by mutual consent. Limor tendered his resignation at the end of last week.
Limor said that after nine years with the IBA, it was time for him to move on to greener pastures.
He was grateful to the IBA for giving him a warm home he said, and he was leaving many good friends and colleagues behind.
He was certainly not leaving with any hard feelings, he insisted, adding that he was a strong believer in public broadcasting and in its importance to society, and hoped the IBA would once again become a significant factor in the Israeli media.
IBA Director-General Yoni Ben-Menachem expressed regret that Limor is leaving and thanked him for his outstanding contribution to the IBA’s news broadcasts. He also intimated that should Limor ever want to return he would be welcomed.
No replacement for Limor has yet been announced, but Amir Bar Shalom who is also a senior military and security reporter for Channel 1, is likely to take over either permanently or until a suitable successor is found for Limor.
The rumor going through the IBA corridors is that Limor is joining the print media full-time.
In tandem with his work at the IBA, he has been a contributor to the daily free tabloid Israel Hayom, and there is wide speculation that he will take up a full time position there.
