The rockets from the Gaza Strip that hit outside the capital Tuesday night have resulted in the postponement of a number of cultural events slated for Thursday, the Jerusalem Municipality announced Wednesday. The sixth annual Jerusalem Woodstock Revival Festival, the opening of the Jerusalem Film Festival at the Sultan’s Pool, and the opening of the Season of Culture – all scheduled for Thursday night – have been delayed. The Woodstock Revival Festival, which features six hours of performances by local cover bands, has been rescheduled for August 21 at Kraft Stadium. The Jerusalem Film Festival, which runs through July 20, will go on as scheduled, but with a slight change in the opening festivities: The screening of the movie Dancing Arabs by Eran Riklis, which had been scheduled for Thursday night, has been moved to July 17.A new date has yet to be determined for the Season of Culture’s opening event, “Contact Point,” but will be announced once the 60-plus artists involved have agreed on one with the Israel Museum.Meanwhile, a street party planned for Friday at the Jaffa- Nevi’im parking lot, with a performance by the Revivo Project, has been postponed as well, and a new date will be announced. Also on hold will be several local synagogue basketball league games, as a number of players have been called up for reserve duty. The quarter- final and semi-final games scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday have been put on hold until further notice, as has the final match on Sunday. The municipality has asked Jerusalem residents to check its website for further developments.
