Elena Yilditz, a successful German model with around 200 thousand followers on Instagram and a quarter of a million on TikTok, made headlines after revealing that her best friend rescinded her invitation to the wedding. The reason, according to Yilditz, was that the bride believed she looked "too good" in the dress.

In a now-deleted TikTok video that amassed over 16.5 million views, the 21-year-old model wrote, "A close friend of mine canceled my invitation to her wedding because she thought I looked too good in the dress - which she chose for me."

Yilditz shared a photo of herself in the dazzling dress adorned with blue and silver sequins, which she claimed to have purchased for $1,360. She added, "At least I managed to capture some fire-worthy pictures." Yilditz had been selected as one of the bridesmaids alongside five other friends.

She explained that she sent the bride a video of herself wearing the dress (which she refused to disclose) before receiving an unexpected phone call. "She called me and expressed her insecurity about my dress, saying it attracted too much attention. She was furious and ultimately canceled my wedding invitation after our conversation. We ended up arguing because her reaction seemed illogical, considering she had chosen the dress herself."

Yilditz added that the other five bridesmaids were also instructed to wear similar dresses, leaving her puzzled as to why she was singled out.

"I had been looking forward to celebrating with my friend, as we had discussed her wedding for years," Yilditz shared. Since the incident, the two have not been in touch, but the viral TikTok video prompted the bride to reach out, leading to further arguments.

In response to the photo, one commenter wrote, "Okay, she might have a point. You look stunning!" Another questioned, "If she chose the dress for you, couldn't she have picked a different one instead of uninviting you?" Some speculated that Yilditz might have refused to wear a different, less revealing dress.

Clarifying the situation, Yilditz responded, "That's not what happened. I never refused anything. She informed me last minute that she didn't want me to wear this dress. I didn't even have time to find another one."

Yilditz expressed uncertainty about reconciling with her long-time friend, particularly as the dress photos circulated widely, turning her into an internet sensation.

The ongoing arguments with the bride further complicated matters. Yilditz concluded by offering advice to all women, saying, "I hope more people understand the importance of self-confidence."
