Elena Yilditz, a successful German model with around 200 thousand followers on Instagram and a quarter of a million on TikTok, made headlines after revealing that her best friend rescinded her invitation to the wedding. The reason, according to Yilditz, was that the bride believed she looked "too good" in the dress.
In a now-deleted TikTok video that amassed over 16.5 million views, the 21-year-old model wrote, "A close friend of mine canceled my invitation to her wedding because she thought I looked too good in the dress - which she chose for me."
Yilditz shared a photo of herself in the dazzling dress adorned with blue and silver sequins, which she claimed to have purchased for $1,360. She added, "At least I managed to capture some fire-worthy pictures." Yilditz had been selected as one of the bridesmaids alongside five other friends.
She explained that she sent the bride a video of herself wearing the dress (which she refused to disclose) before receiving an unexpected phone call. "She called me and expressed her insecurity about my dress, saying it attracted too much attention. She was furious and ultimately canceled my wedding invitation after our conversation.
