Druse leaders end protest convoy at Yanai interchange; won't reach TA

The Druse protest convoy that blocked Route 2 throughout the morning hours stopped at the Yanai Interchange on Tuesday afternoon. The leaders of Druse of Circassian community leaders agreed to police requests not to continue blocking traffic all the way to Tel Aviv. "We have conveyed our message," Salah Fares, the chairman of an organization of municipality heads of Druse and Circassian communities said. He added that on Thursday, the organization would protest in front of the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv. The community leaders were protesting what they said was the government's failure to transfer funds to close deficits in the municipalities' budgets.
