Mortar shells fired from Gaza hit Eshkol region

More than 200 Grad missiles, Kassam rockets and mortar shells have been fired at Israel since the beginning of 2010, according to the IDF.
Two mortar shells fired by terrorists in Gaza struck in the Eshkol region on Sunday, security sources said.

No damage or casualties was reported.

Authorities were checking to see if additional projectiles had been fired.

On Saturday night, five Gazans were killed by an IAF strike on a cell preparing to launch rockets at Israel, Palestinian sources said.

The IDF had identified the impending attack from central Gaza and responded immediately, according to an army spokesman.

It was the deadliest attack on Gaza in recent months. More than 200 Grad missiles, Kassam rockets and mortar shells have been fired at Israel since the beginning of 2010, according to the IDF.

The slain terrorists were members of Islamic Jihad and the Popular Resistance for the Liberation of Palestine, according to reports from Gaza.
