'Death toll in Pakistan shrine blast rises to 30'

ISLAMABAD - The death toll from two blasts at a Sufi shrine in eastern Pakistan on Sunday has risen to 30, a rescue service official told Reuters. Police said the blasts were caused by bombs.

"We have shifted 30 bodies and about 100 wounded to different hospitals," said Natiq Hayat, head of the city rescue service in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Al Qaeda-linked Taliban militants abhor the unorthodox Sufi interpretation of Islam and have attacked Sufi targets in Pakistan several times.
