Abbas says still seeks talks extension
RAMALLAH, West Bank - Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday said he was still interested in extending peace talks with Israel after it suspended them over a unity pact he signed with the Hamas militant group this week.

Abbas was speaking to a meeting of top leaders in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) gathered for a two-day conference to asses the Palestinian strategy to achieve statehood after US-backed talks began to unravel this month.
