Frontlines Podcast: Yitzhak Rabin and the third intifada
"Post"'s managing editor recalls the atmosphere in the newsroom the night Rabin was murdered; Knesset reporter discusses spate of controversial new laws.

It’s been 19 years since the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, and with each year, his political legacy becomes more politicized. The Jerusalem Post's Managing Editor David Brinn, who was editing the paper the night Rabin was murdered, talks about the horrible event, how politicians from across the spectrum are trying to redefine Rabin, and discusses how Rabin would deal with the latest flare-ups of violence in Jerusalem.
Then, Knesset Reporter Lahav Harkov tells us about a spate of controversial new laws in the Knesset, such as a prisoner release law that could affect future peace negotiations and a sentencing law that could see stone-throwers jailed for up to 20 years.
Finally, Magazine Editor Laura Kelly calls in from a web conference in Ireland to tell us about Israel’s showing there, and the latest innovations from the Start-up Nation.
Each week, the Frontlines Podcast brings you insight from the paper’s leading reporters, editors and columnists on the biggest headlines in Israel.
