Karadi: Abuse of Sela goes against police values

Israel Police Chief Insp.-Gen. Moshe Karadi condemned Wednesday night the police treatment of convicted serial rapist Benny Sela, saying it went against police values. "The behavior of the officers goes against the values of the police," Karadi said during a visit to the northern district. "It hurts our image, and we should pull it from its roots." Four officers and detectives from the Nahariya Police Department were accused of mistreating Sela after ynet camera crews photographed them holding Sela by the neck and head following his capture. During the visit to the north, Karadi said he supported the police investigators' decision to send the four to a disciplinary hearing.
