Jordan invites Haniyeh for talks with Abbas
Jordan has invited Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas for talks with PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in Amman, the Jordanian capital, a Palestinian official said Monday. There was no immediate comment from Jordan. Talks between Haniyeh and Abbas over a joint Hamas-Fatah government have broken down, and there have been clashes between armed forces loyal to the rival movements. Jordan has offered to mediate in the past.
