Trump says he wants son-in-law Jared Kushner to broker Middle East peace deal
US President-elect Donald Trump said on Sunday that his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, would be placed in charge of brokering a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians during his administration.

Speaking in an interview with German daily Der Bild and the Times of London just days before his January 20 inauguration, Trump said he intends to put Kushner in charge of the difficult task of arriving at negotiated settlement between the parties, calling the 36-year-old a "natural talent" in the art of deal-making.

“You know what? Jared is such a good lad, he will secure an Israel deal which no one else has managed to get. You know, he’s a natural talent, he is the top, he is a natural talent. You know what I’m talking about – a natural talent. He has an innate ability to make deals, everyone likes him,” Trump told the publications.

Trump also admonished the out going administration of President Barack Obama for his decision not to veto a UN resolution that condemned Israeli settlement construction in the West Bank and east Jerusalem in late December, describing the move as "terrible."

When asked if he intends to move the American embassy currently situated in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as he promised during his presidential campaign, Trump said : “I’m not going to comment on that. But we’ll see.”
