The Project was dedicated to the King of Holland.
The Water Project of Mitzpeh Ramon was inaugurated yesterday (March 12) by the Keren Kayemet L'Israel-Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF), with JNF Holland, in honor of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.

The event was attended by the Dutch Ambasador to Israel Gilles Beschoor Plug; President of the JNF Holland Professor Moshe Kon; CEO of the Mitzpeh Ramon Local Council Dror Dvash; and other Dutch and Israeli officials.

The Project includes a number of initiatives such as the Mitzpeh Ramon Water Reservoir and land preparation for agriculture near the city. The reservoir holds up to 100,000 cubic meters of recycled water intended for use in crop irrigation.

Israel is generally considered a pioneer in the use of recycled wastewater.

Ambassador Beschoor Plug commented, "It is no coincidence that this project is about water - water is a subject that is extremely important for both our countries. The problems we are facing are different but the solutions are often similar. One of the things we share with Israel is the sea, which enables us to cross the world and share our inventions to combat a shortage or abundance of water with other countries in dire need of our solutions.”
