3 drivers from the UN's World Food Program killed in Darfur
10/17/2007
Three truck drivers working for the UN's World Food Program have been killed in the past few days while delivering food aid to Darfur, the WFP said in a statement Wednesday. Two of the men were killed in an ambush Tuesday near the South Darfur town of Ed Daien, close to where 10 African Union peacekeepers were slain in September, the statement said. A third driver was killed on October 12 on the road from Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state, to El Fasher in North Darfur. The UN food relief agency said it did not know the identity of the attackers.
