The first delegation of Israeli builders will travel to Japan to examine opportunities in the booming Japanese building market, according to the Industry, Trade and Labor Ministry.
Some 20 Israeli construction firms have already expressed interest in participating in the delegation, according to the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute. The Japanese building market is the second largest in the world, after the US, totaling $500 billion for the year 2006. Trade between Israel and Japan amounted to $2.3b. for the year 2006, with $763m. in exports, a 2% increase from the previous year.
