NFTs are on the rise in fashion. In just a few months, numerous fashion labels, beauty brands and artists have begun issuing non-fungible tokens, or NFTs including Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Burberry.

One such company- Blvck Paris, a renowned lifestyle brand, has contributed greatly in bringing the essence of its dark aesthetic to the metaverse.

Set up in 2017, Blvck Paris was founded by a French designer, Julian O’hayon who is famously identified for his 'All Black' clothing, accessories, and digital goods for men and women. Blvck has introduced a new range of fashion infused with luxury, which focuses on providing quality and design. This new style has certainly proven to be better than the anachronistic designs, bringing Blvck fashion into the prevailing market.

After 3 years, O’hayon has expanded his business and created an ‘all-blvck everything’ lifestyle with their digital products. Julian and his team strive to introduce a new and fresh line of lifestyle products. Back in October 2020, as part of their digital line, the ‘Blvck iOS14 icons set’, which helps customize your iOS home screen and turn it back!

More recently, the global lifestyle brand Blvck Paris announced its second NFT drop 'DARKMODE02' on MakersPlace which launched on Wednesday August 11th.  Unlike many brands who partnered with artists, each of the artworks included in the drop have been meticulously created from the music to every detail in the animation by O’hayon

In celebration, Blvck and MakersPlace partnered to paint the blockchain black with a number of shadowy festivities including a ‘blvcked out’ Decentraland exhibition, community raffle and more.

As a special addition to the collection, the fixed edition pieces come with unique numbered accessories never seen before specifically created for this drop. The collection will include two fixed editions, one auction and open limited editions.

The brand launched its NFT debut collection 'DARK MODE01' earlier in June 2021 exclusively on MakersPlace and sold out all the 30 fixed editions within the first 5 minutes of release. The artworks follow the themes of the brand itself, featuring the authentic work of O'hayon in the form of 3D motion graphics. O'hayon's vision is to apply his personal 'Blvck' stamp by creating a distinctive and aesthetically satisfying effect in each piece. Julian encapsulates 3D effects by bringing his 'art to life' and leaving an imaginative and aesthetic vision to its viewers, through a melancholic theme.

The artwork embodies the ethos behind the brand with the purpose of demonstrating Blvck Paris' poetic and artistic endeavour to those that share O'hayon's love of aesthetically pleasing monochrome art and design.

What's next for Blvck Paris?

In addition to its expansion in the digital space, Blvck Paris offered its customers the opportunity to experience the line in person with several openings of pop up stores worldwide. The shop's monochrome aesthetic runs through every element of the retail experience from its design to unexpected additions like black ice cream, and a limited edition 3-ft. Blvck Teddy bear.

A pop-up opened in New Yaohan in Macau in May 2021, followed by the brand’s first physical space in the US, in Miami at Show fields in June 2021. The brand just announced the opening of its first physical pop-up store in Tokyo at Parco Shibuya opening on August 12th, followed by a pop-up store in Hong Kong at Sogo and its first flagship store in Taipei at A3, both in September.
