The 13th round of the English Championship continued on Saturday with all Israeli representatives in action. While Daniel Peretz and Southampton maintained their momentum, Manor Solomon and West Ham suffered another disappointing loss.
Southampton 4, QPR 1
Daniel Peretz and Southampton continued their fantastic momentum with a fourth win in their last five matches. The Saints displayed a lethal attacking performance and settled the match with four easy goals, securing another three points in the battle for the top of the Championship. Kuryu Matsuki opened the scoring, Cameron Bragg and Kevin Schlotterbeck extended the lead, and Richard Kone only pulled one back for the visitors. Wellington sealed the result with a fourth in stoppage time. Peretz put in a solid performance, making two fine saves in the first half before enjoying a largely untested second half.
- 11th minute: 0-1 to Southampton! Kuryu Matsuki gained control of the ball inside the six-yard box, turned, and slotted it into the net to give Southampton an early lead with his fourth goal of the season.
- 24th minute: First dangerous chance for QPR, and the Saints' Israeli keeper reacted properly with a wonderful dive to the right.
- 26th minute: Peretz again. Paul Smyth shot from inside the box, but the goalkeeper parried the ball and quickly secured the rebound.
- 45th minute: Lewis Dobbin was already celebrating the hosts' second goal just before halftime, but the linesman raised his flag after a considerable delay, disallowing the goal for offside.
- 55th minute: Now it's 0-2 to Southampton. Cameron Bragg struck from the edge of the box, with the ball taking a deflection off a defender to trick Pierce Charles, who failed to prevent the goal.
- 66th minute: 0-3 to the Saints! Kevin Schlotterbeck headed into the net following a precise corner kick by Ryan Manning.
- 68th minute: 3-1! QPR is not giving up. Richard Kone sent a precise shot that hit the post and penetrated the net, bringing a glimmer of hope back to the visitors.
- 95th minute: A crushing 1-4 for the Saints! Wellington hammered in the hosts' fourth in stoppage time following a lethal counterattack.
West Ham 1, West Bromwich 3
Another gloomy evening for West Ham and Manor Solomon, who continued their downward slide with a second consecutive defeat. The Hammers once again displayed porous defense, conceding twice in the first half and failing to recover after the break. Jarrod Bowen briefly brought the hosts back into the game, but Jamie Jay Morgan posted a goal and an assist, while Felix Horn Meyer and Callum Styles added tallies to give the visitors a convincing win. Solomon came on as a substitute in the 60th minute but failed to influence the result as his team continued to lose ground at the top.
- 20th minute: 0-1 to West Bromwich! Price sent a wonderfully curled through ball to Jay Morgan, who broke into the box from the right and preferred to square it to Felix Horn Meyer, who poked it in from close range at the net. West Ham concedes within the first 20 minutes at home for the third consecutive league game.
- 29th minute: 1-1! West Ham is back. Bowen received the ball on the right flank, penetrated the box, and sent a sharp, flat cross that beat Max O'Leary at the near corner.
- 48th minute: 1-2 to the visitors! Horrific defense by West Ham. Price crossed from the left, Golambeckis carelessly missed it, and Jay Morgan - left unmarked in the box - shot to the far corner.
- 60th minute: Manor Solomon comes on as a substitute and will try to get the Hammers back into business.
- 72nd minute: 1-3 to West Bromwich! Morato poorly cleared the corner kick, Solomon failed to reach the ball, and Callum Styles took control before shooting toward goal. The ball deflected off a defender on the way and tricked the goalkeeper into the net.
