Casspi averaging career-lows in most major offensive categories, but has shown sparks of late.

Despite a frustrating first half of the season, Omri Casspi remains upbeat about his prospects with the Cleveland Cavaliers.Casspi has started every one of Cleveland’s 28 games ahead of Sunday night’s encounter against his former team the Sacramento Kings, but he’s averaging career lows in minutes (23 mpg), points (7.8 ppg) and rebounds (3.2 rpg) among others, struggling particularly on the offensive end.The 23-year-old forward admitted that adjusting to Cleveland after two years in Sacramento has been tougher than he expected, but he is confident that it won’t be long before everything begins to fall into place.“It’s still early in the season to make conclusions,” Casspi said ahead of the game against Sacramento. “I’m trying to find my way in a new team. I’m working hard and trying to improve and we’ll make the conclusions at the end of the year.“I think defensively I’m really where I want to be. I’ve made a lot of improvement and made progress. Now I need to work on my offense as well.Coach Scott told me a few days ago that sometimes I just have to focus on other stuff.“The offense will come eventually.”There had been rumors that Casspi could drop out of Cleveland’s starting five due to his underwhelming play, but coach Byron Scott has no such intention at the moment.“I think Omri’s doing a pretty good job,” he said. “Sometimes it takes six months to a year for a new player to adjust. I think that’s where Omri is with us. He’s still adjusting, but he’s getting better. He’s a kid that just wants to work hard and get better.“I think he’s still getting a little more comfortable with every day. I think as the season goes on I expect Omri to play even better.”
