Softball: Rise Hi's Harows come up big; Flag Football: Cafe Rimon upsets Edita Jewelry.

Rise Hi overwhelmed Optica International 22-1 in an amateur softball in Israel series game at Kibbutz Gezer on Friday. The defending series champions scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning and 10 runs in the second, highlighted by Earl Harow's basesloaded triple. Harow drove in a total of six runs in the game. Ethan Harow had three hits and three RBIs, Chaim Jacobson had four hits, Aryeh Baumen had three hits and two RBIs, Danny Harow had two doubles and Aaron Harow two singles. Ed Harow picked up the win on the mound. Nefesh B'Nefesh 16, Rehovot 8 Nefesh B'Nefesh continued its strong hitting as it pounded out 20 hits in defeating Applied Materials Rehovot last week. Behind 3-0 after one inning, NBN tied it up in the second on hits by third baseman Aaron Lazor and DH Yossi Hadad, who each went 4-for-4 with four RBIs apiece and five doubles between them. Rehovot took a 4-3 lead in the third, but NBN rang up four runs in each of the next two innings, followed by five more in the fifth, to open up a lead it would never relinquish. NBN catcher Dov Friedman continued his torrid hitting, going 3-for-4 with four runs scored, and shortstop Mike Hochman had two RBIs and scored three times for NBN. Pitchers Yedidya Rausman and Yaakov Lazar combined for the victory. Suns 11, CI 8 Andre Isaacson led the Beit Shemesh Suns over Contact International last week at Kibbutz Gezer. Isaacson pitched another great game, fielded his position flawlessly and hit well again. Adam Fishman, who crushed two balls over the right field fence for home runs and had four RBIs, also did a fantastic job at catcher, allowing not a single stolen base. Seth Gerson had another great day at the plate going 3-for-4, one hit short of the cycle. Shortstop Jeff Mor also went 3-for-4 and showed great range in fielding fly balls hit all over the diamond. Leftfielder Aaron Cohen robbed CI of an early base hit by making a diving catch to his right. The Suns led 11-1 going into the bottom of the seventh, but CI fought back by scoring seven runs and bringing the tying run to the plate. A time out was called and Cohen returned to left field. The CI batter hit a bullet into the gap, but Cohen tracked the ball down to stop the rally and give NBN the victory.
