Hoffman triumphs in Israel Net

Eddie Hoffman won the "A" Division, Shmulik Almagor the "B" and Aaron Mizrahi the "C" Division in the finals of Israel Net 2008 which was finally completed at the Ga'ash Golf Club on Wednesday. The competition, which started off early in December, was postponed numerous times due to foul weather and heavy rains. In the "A" Division, Hoffman had a net score of 65 in the qualifying round and 68 in the final to take first place on a total of 133 strokes. In second place was Gideon Drimmer on 135 strokes. In the "B" Division, Almagor and John Wohlberg were both on 142 strokes and in the exciting play-off Shmulik took first place. In the "C" Division, Mizrahi won with 138 strokes followed by Shmuel Zandkeren with 140 strokes. In the final round the longest drive for ladies went to Liliane Beck and for men to Patrick Saada. Nearest to the Pin prize went to Albert Katzenellenbogen. At the prize-giving ceremony Dr. Cyril Kaufman, Chairman of the Israel Golf Federation, thanked the Ga'ash Golf Club for hosting the tournament and expressed gratitude to the CEO of Euro-Asia, the importers of Rolex watches, Mr. Yossi Tziezler for his loyal sponsorship of the tournament and his continuous support for golf in Israel.
