Ice Dance: Zaretskys move up to sixth position at ISU Europe

Brother and sister pairing finishes original dance section with 55.92 points, for a total of 90.55 points ahead of Friday's final section - the free dance.

Israeli ice dancing duo Roman and Alexandra Zaretsky moved up aplace to sixth position overall at the ISU European Championships inTallinn, Estonia, on Thursday evening.

The brother and sister pairing finished sixth in Thursday'soriginal dance section with 55.92 points, giving them a total of 90.55points ahead of Friday's final section - the free dance.

The Olympic Committee of Israel requires the Zaretskys tofinish in the top 10 at the Europeans in order for them to compete atthe Winter Olympics in Vancouver next month.

The pair are likely to be Israel's only representatives at the Games.

Russia's Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin held their lead at the Europeans after the original dance.

Italian rivals Federica Faiella and Massimo Scali slightlyoutpointed the Russians on Thursday, but the world champions stayed infront overall because of their advantage after Tuesday's compulsorydance.

Domnina and Shabalin got higher artistic marks than theItalians for their highly unusual routine to Australian aboriginalmusic.

Jana Khokhlova and Sergei Novitski of Russia are third.
