Or Aviram, Israel's No. 1 10-pin male bowler, recently returned home as victor of the 2006 European Champions Cup, and will soon leave for the Bowling World Cup in Caracas, Venezuela, to face top amateur competition from over 70 countries. At the Champions Cup in Riga, Latvia, where there were more than 30 competitors, Aviram defeated Norway's Mads Sandbaekken in the best-of-three games championship match 180-217, 234-204, 235-225. Also representing Israel at the tournament, was Israel's female 10-pin champion, Mali Mizrachi. Joining Or at the 42nd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup from November 4-7 will be his younger sister, Mor Aviram. The sibling duo were the 2006 male and female Israel AMF gold medalists. Israel's national organization, the Israeli Bowling Federation, has established sanctioned league play and national tournaments. The IBF sends winners of these tournaments to compete abroad and also organizes the 10-pin tournament at the Maccabiah Games.
