Kliger and Gal move up at worlds

The Israelis were sixth after Sunday's races in the sailing 470 Class World Championships in Rizhao, China.

Gideon Kliger and Ehud Gal moved to within three points of the bronze medal in the sailing 470 Class World Championships in Rizhao, China, on Sunday. The Israelis were sixth after Sunday's races, up two places from Saturday. Kliger and Gal finished the first race on Sunday in 13th place and the second in seventh. Noa Botzer and Laia Trajtenberg moved up four places in the standings on Sunday after finishing their two races in ninth and 28th. Botzer and Trajtenberg are now eighth, but are a huge 27 points from the bronze medal. Nike Kornecki and Ravid Kanonich are one place and point behind Botzer and Trajtenberg after dropping three spots in the standings following their 19th and 20th finishes in Sunday's races.• allon@jpost.com
