Shahar Pe'er returned to action early Tuesday morning, when she played her quarterfinals match against Serena Williams. The match was Pe'er's first ever at the quarterfinal stage of a Grand Slam tournament and the biggest of her career. Ram and Erlich planned to join the band of Israelis in the crowd and help Pe'er to victory.
"She will beat Serena and I will be there to cheer her on," Ram said Monday. "Even though Williams is in excellent form, Pe'er will win. She's confident and she deserves it. She is going to be number one in world one day."
