Shahar Pe'er's fourth-round run at the French Open saw her climb two more spots to a career high 24th in the world after the WTA's new rankings were published Monday.
The 19-year-old, who is in Israel this week, also moved up to 16th in the WTA Race, which monitors the top results for the 2006 season. The rankings are based on a 52-week system.
Pe'er shot up to 39 in the doubles rankings as well. She plans to continue playing doubles with France's Marion Bartoli, with their next event scheduled to be at the Wimbledon tune-up in Eastbourne in two weeks.
Anna Smashnova, who won the title last week at the ITF challenger event in Prostejov, Czech Republic, climbed up eight spots to 42.
Also a big mover in the rankings was Pe'er and Smashnova's Fed Cup teammate Yevgenia Savransky, 22, who shot up 45 notches to a career-best 203 after reaching the third round of the French Open qualifying.
In the men's rankings, Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich remained eighth in the ATP Team race and ninth in the rankings.
Roger Federer strengthened his hold on the No. 1 ranking despite losing to No. 2 Rafael Nadal in the French Open final.
James Blake of the United States, who reached the French Open's third round for the first time, moved up one place to No. 7, tying his career high. And Mario Ancic of Croatia rose three places to a careerbest No. 9 thanks to his quarterfinal run.
Andre Agassi, off the tour since March but returning this week for grass-court play, actually moved from No. 23 to No. 21.
In the women's rankings, Roland Garros champion Justine Henin-Hardenne jumped two spots to No. 3. Amelie Mauresmo and Kim Clijsters stayed at Nos. 1 and 2, followed by Henin-Hardenne.
With Wimbledon only a week away many of the best players on the men's tour are playing in the Queen's Club grass court tournament in London.
Andre Agassi played his first match in more than three months at Queen's on Monday - and it showed.
The 36-year-old American lost 6-4, 6-4 to Tim Henman in the first round of the event.
Agassi had played only eight matches since the US Open in September due to a bad back, with his last appearance coming at the Indian Wells tournament in March.
Nadal is the top-seeded player in his first Stella Artois Championship. Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia is seeded second.
