What if, instead of waiting in line at the front desk, you could walk into a hotel lobby and check in with a life-sized hologram? Astral Hotels is launching a new self-service kiosk that combines a holographic avatar with artificial intelligence, allowing guests to complete the check-in process independently and receive their room key cards without having to wait at reception.
The initial kiosk will begin operating at the Queen of Sheba Hotel in Eilat, with the chain planning to evaluate rolling out the technology across its additional properties in the future.
Developed by the company EyeFeelIt, the system features an AI-driven holographic avatar that also doubles as a digital concierge. Guests begin the check-in process by scanning a QR code displayed on the hologram. Once they complete the steps on their smartphone, the physical room key card is dispensed directly from the kiosk.
More than just check-in
Checking in, however, is only part of the service. The avatar is also programmed to provide guests with details about hotel amenities, recommend local restaurants, highlight regional attractions, and serve as an interactive information hub throughout their stay.
According to Lior Berneman-Zvulun, VP of Marketing and Digital at Astral Hotels, this is the first step in a broader effort to integrate cutting-edge technologies into the hospitality experience. The chain noted that the initiative aims to offer a seamless, 24/7 service while assessing the expansion of the technology to other locations.
EyeFeelIt specializes in interactive hologram solutions and digital avatars. According to the company's CEO, Sharon Birnbaum, the avatar is designed to function not merely as a service point, but as a primary touchpoint between the hotel and the guest - available around the clock.
