The Lev Kotev festival continues into September in the Western Negev, and next weekend, September 17-18, festival events will take place in the region's communities and local natural settings. The festival connects writing, literature, music, and creation with the kibbutzim, moshavim, and landscapes of the Western Negev.
During the weekend, writing workshops, masterclasses, encounters with artists, performances, and outdoor activities will take place, with some held in unconventional venues.
Among the events that will take place over the weekend: A masterclass by Yali Sobol in Sderot, where he will deal with creation and music; a character writing and plot building workshop led by Shiri Artzi in Nir Akiva; a mindfulness and intuitive writing workshop with Dana Berger in Ein Habesor; and a lecture by podcast creator Maya Kosover in Nahal Oz on the art of storytelling and how to tell a story.
Also on the program: A writing workshop combining cycling with poet Yakir Ben-Moshe in Be'eri, a writing workshop alongside historical archival materials in Kfar Aza, and a "dismantling and assembly" workshop combining women's yoga and writing led by Mira Artzi Padan and Sagit Emet in Neveh Eshkol.
Music also receives a place at the festival, with performances and intimate encounters built specifically for locations in the area.
The festival takes place at the initiative of the TKUMA Authority, the Shikma Besor Tourism Association, and "Sadnaot Habait," with the aim of bringing an audience to Western Negev communities through culture, creation, and a direct encounter with the area.
Activities take place at prices of NIS 60-80, with some including a first glass of wine or coffee. Participation is conditional on advance registration.
