Residents of Beersheba and the surrounding area will no longer need to travel to the central region to visit the Ramle-Lod Market. The market's Grand Bazaar will now operate permanently in the Beersheba Municipal Market twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays. The launch will take place this coming Thursday, October 22.

The bazaar will spread across the open areas of the municipal market, including Quarter A - the first section renovated as part of the market’s renewal project, which is expected to reopen soon. Dozens of stalls will offer clothing, footwear, homeware, bedding, textiles, rugs, jewelry, and accessories.

This move is part of a broader initiative to revitalize the historic market, spearheaded by the Beersheba Municipality and Yeadim (the Municipal Company for Business Development), in collaboration with representatives of the market's merchants. The project is backed by funding from the the Development of the Negev Ministry, the Galilee and National Resilience, as well as the Tourism Ministry, with the initial phase budgeted at approximately NIS 65 million. Municipal officials note that the overarching goal is to transform the market into a vibrant commercial, cultural, and tourism hub.

According to Meital Lev, Manager of the Municipal Market, the bazaar is expected to attract new visitors:

"Quarter A, the first section renovated under this project and set to welcome back merchants soon, will host the Ramle-Lod Market twice a week," she said. "Market vendors will benefit from increased foot traffic and a new audience, while residents of Beersheba and the metropolitan area will enjoy a vast selection of products."
