IAF kills 2 Islamic Jihad operatives in Gaza strike

IDF says terrorists were part of terror cell behind series of recent sniper attacks along border with Gaza.

The Israel Air Force attacked a motorbike in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, killing two Islamic Jihad operatives who the IDF said were behind a series of recent sniper attacks along the Gaza border.
The airstrike came several hours after an attack against Israeli construction workers along Israel’s border with Egypt but the IDF said that the two incidents were not connected.
The IDF said that the two men killed in the airstrike were part of a terror cell responsible for recent shooting attacks along the border. In late May, an IDF officer and soldier were shot and wounded by a sniper and last week, shots were fired at an Israeli farmer working in his field near the border.
The Palestinian Ma’an News Agency identified the men as Muhammad Shabat and Ismael Abu Ouda in their 20s. It said that both were members of Islamic Jihad's Al-Quds Brigades and were on their way to perpetrate an attack against Israel.
