Haredi protests of baby killer's arrest continue

Several hundred haredi men demonstrated Friday night outside Jerusalem police headquarters, in renewed protests over the arrest of a 19-year-old haredi man suspected of beating his three-month old infant to death, police said. The protesters, who subsequently tried to overturn garbage bins in the city's nearby Mea She'arim neighborhood during the Sabbath-eve demonstration, were forcibly dispersed by police. The alleged child killer, who may be released on bail as early as Tuesday if probation officers determine that he does not pose a danger to the public, is facing manslaughter charges.
